Godolphin Racing’s MARKING (Bernardini) makes his belated career debut in this spot after scratching at the starting gate as the 8-5 favorite at Saratoga Aug. 21. Trained by Kiaran McLaughlin, the homebred is the second foal out of Seventh Street (Street Cry {Ire}), who was acquired by Godolphin for $1 million as a FTFMAR juvenile and went on to capture the GI Apple Blossom H. and GI Go for Wand H. in 2009. Marking’s second dam is MSW & MGSP Holiday Runner (Meadowlake), also dam of G1 Dubai Golden Shaheen hero Reynaldothewizard (Speightstown). The bay worked a bullet four furlongs in :46.07 at the Spa two days after being scratched and has since added two more four-panel maintenance breezes in preparation for this unveiling.
